At 3 a.m. on July 18, Boro-Wide driver Maeen Sailani and helper Ericksson Lantigua came upon a customer’s container that was already ignited. They immediately stopped their truck, grabbed the fire extinguishers that every truck in our fleet is equipped with, and worked together to put out the flames before they could spread. They were integral in saving the lives of the tenants and putting out the fire, preventing what could have been a far more serious situation.

Boro-Wide is proud of Maeen and Ericksson and the way they responded in a moment of danger. Most people might not have been able to react as quickly as they did to help mitigate the situation, but their training and presence of mind made the difference. Their actions show what it means to look out for the people and neighborhoods we serve every day.
