MRT BWR, Corp. represents a landmark collaboration between two longstanding New York City waste management companies: Mr. T Carting, Corp. (MRT) and Boro-Wide Recycling Corp (BWR). With a combined legacy stretching back to 1947, this partnership marks a significant step towards innovative and sustainable waste management solutions in the city.

Operational Excellence

MRT and BWR operate state-of-the-art waste collection fleets and manage several key facilities in NYC. BWR runs the Empire State Cardboard Paper Recycling Company in Maspeth, focusing on cardboard and paper. MRT operates Scholes Street Recycling in Brooklyn for metal, glass, and cardboard and Hi-Tech Resource Recovery, also in Brooklyn, newly transitioned into an Organics Recovery Facility, subject to city approval.

BWR’s partnership with the National Tennis Center, for instance, helped the US Open become a Zero-Waste event, earning the 2019 Environmental Leader Award. MRT’s long-standing food waste collection for composting further cements our role as trailblazers in waste management.
